It’s the beginning of the year, so it’s time to see if I managed to complete my 2021 reading challenges! Things were looking a little dicey in my last update, but have I managed to pull it out the bag? Read on to find out!

2021 Reading Challenges: October Progress Update

A little more progress has been made on the reading challenges I undertook at the start of the year, which were supposed to be happy-fun-times that were easily achievable and are now becoming a tiny bit more fraught as the end of the year approaches. Read on to find out why, and which challenges I’ve… Read More 2021 Reading Challenges: October Progress Update

Reading Challenges: August Progress Update

It’s been a while since I’ve updated you all on my reading challenge progress, so it’s time to check what badges I’ve acquired in the Spells and Spaceships badge collecting extravaganza, as well as what prompts I’ve met in the Hodderscape 2021 Reading Challenge. Has this been an “august” performance in terms of reading challenges?… Read More Reading Challenges: August Progress Update

Reading Challenges: March Progress Update

March is finished, and with it, plenty of books! This time I managed to complete some prompts from the Hodderscape 2021 reading challenge and earn a Spells and Spaceships badge, so I’m feeling like I’m back on track. You could almost say I’ve been marching on, but you shouldn’t, because that’s terrible. Shame on you… Read More Reading Challenges: March Progress Update

Reading Challenges: January Progress Update

As I didn’t start properly blogging until February of last year, and then built this site and launched it in May, it seemed silly to jump on board with a reading challenge when the year was already so far gone. This year though, I decided to take part in a couple. I’ll be giving monthly… Read More Reading Challenges: January Progress Update

This #bookhaul is not entirely the result of a single trip, this is just everything I've bought since my last haul picture (probably on Twitter). I blame @thevoiceofboo for The Virgin Suicides, as she made it sound amazing. I can't remember who to blame for The Infinite and the Divine, but I know I was talking to someone about it - speak up if you think it was you!
A few holiday snaps! First pic - the dogs impatiently waiting in their cage to be allowed to explore their temporary home. Second pic - the ruined abbey at Dunwich as the sun sets. Third pic - my sister's dog Hudson looks mournfully on the empty breakfast plate that wasn't for him.
Easily the biggest book haul I've ever had! This is the result of a spending spree with a birthday book token. The bag was really heavy.
Just received this extremely cool set of bookends as a surprise gift! You can expect to see these in all my stack photos from now on, I absolutely love them!
My most recent read, finished last night. There's a lot of bioengineered food for thought in this one!
A helpful reminder that just because you can do something, that doesn't mean you should. Like taking pretty photos of a book lying in snow, for example. Thankfully, the book is OK, after I brushed off a lot of the clingy white stuff!
January's physical read books! It's been a great reading month for me, with a couple of ARC eBooks thrown in for good measure too (Rebecca Roanhorse's Black Sun and Stephen Deas' The Moonsteel Crown).
A couple of days in Wales - not in the happiest circumstances, sadly - but some beautiful views around here.
I don't even care that this won't fit alongside any of my other books, it's such a cool design! This month's #bookclub pick, courtesy of @jessicarose.1995, can't wait to get started on this one.
I actually won a competition! Courtesy of @rebellionpublishing, this arrived today, can't wait to read it!
UK giveaway!
